We are building a wiki which, among other things, has a more comprehensive list of Roguelites and Roguelikes. I see no reason this wouldnt work outside a LAN using a forwarded port or VPN also, so the short version is 'no need for GOG/DRM to play multiplayer streets of rogue'. The term "roguelike-like" or "rogue-lite" has been used to distinguish these games that possess some, but not all, of the features from those that exactly meet the roguelike definition. I can update this to say, happily, that LAN is supported by the Linux client and works fine: tested with two machines and was able to play multiplayer no problem. If you're easily offended, it's probably not where you want to be. Up to four players can be accommodated in both local and online multiplayer, and playing with a friend in tow was a much easier and more enjoyable experience than playing alone. ![]() Be warned, this one is a free speech server.
